Why We Built This Site
South Carolina has several public access paths, and the right one depends on who keeps the record. Fairfield County Sheriff Administration handles its own reports and local booking or warrant questions. Filed cases appear through the Fairfield Public Index, while the Clerk provides official copies. SLED maintains the statewide fingerprint-supported repository. SCDC covers sentenced state custody, and the South Carolina Sex Offender Registry is a separate system. This county reference gathers those official contacts, access limits, charges, and request steps in one place.
What You Will Find Here

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a South Carolina court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that every published address, fee, hour, or phone number remains current
Only the issuing agency, such as the Sheriff, Clerk, or SLED, can provide an official criminal record. The document must come from its government custodian.
Search Partners
Third-party companies supply the search boxes found on some pages. Each provider sets its own prices, terms, and result methods. A paid service reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that helps support access to the site. We neither compile the provider's data nor control its charges or returned information.
